24th May, 2007: Yankees vs. Red Sox
Oh what a game last night between the Yankees and Red Sox! I think we’re in for a great race between the two teams all summer as well as all of the divisions throughout baseball. Despite having been disillusioned from time to time with the issues surrounding baseball it’s times like this that bring out the kid in me. There was incredible excitement surrounding the Yankees – Red sox series and I’m sure there will be more to come throughout the league all summer. I think that’s why it has been the National Pastime for so long.

23rd May, 2007: Winning Formula
It’s all about momentum! After a very slow start the Yankees seem to be on a bit of a roll with the win over the Red Sox last night. The Yankees seem to be playing with more confidence and I believe it all starts with Joe Torre (regularly seen drinking his cup of Bigelow Green Tea in the dugout throughout the game).
Joe defines grace under fire as he never hits the panic button and seems to treat all with respect. I just got his book, Joe Torre’s Ground Rules for Winners and can’t wait to read it. One or two games do not make a season but over a very long season I think Joe’s approach is a winning formula (whether the Yankees win a championship or not).

2nd April, 2007: Baseball and Bigelow
Opening day is upon us and all the teams are getting in position for the first game. I’m sure Joe Torre’s office and the locker room is fully stocked with Bigelow Green tea!
I got a call last week from Mike Francesca of Mike and The Mad Dog on WFAN and YES Network who has become an avid drinker of Bigelow Green Tea (it must be the power of suggestion from Joe Torre and Phil Simms). We might be talking about integrating Bigelow Green Tea into his show, but at a minimum we are running Joe Torre radio spots around opening day.
To all of you Bigelow bloggers, let’s raise your mug of Bigelow Green tea to your favorite team winning the World Series

26th February, 2007: Spring Training
It must be spring training for baseball because there was Joe Torre being interviewed by WNBC sports and sure enough he was enjoying a cup of Bigelow green tea. Joe is such an advocate of making Bigelow green tea a part of his lifestyle that he drinks it hot or iced throughout the day. He’s even got many of his Yankee colleagues dipping into his personal stash of Bigelow green tea (although I hear Joe is always quick to share his green tea). He’s even got Yogi drinking Bigelow green tea!

19th February, 2007: Bigelow’s Ads Buzzing
There is a lot of talk going on…it’s so cool to see and hear from our consumer’s about how much they love Bigelow’s print ads. Readers everywhere are letting us know how much they are enjoying seeing us in O Magazine (we know Oprah is a big tea drinker), Real Simple and Sports Illustrated which features Joe Torre and Phil and Chris Simms.Â
Let us know what you think when you see our next ad! We are really excited about them.

5th February, 2007: Spring Training
It won’t be long for pitchers and catchers to report for spring training! Baseball is just around the corner! Joe Torre is making his plans for Yankee spring training in Tampa and wanted to make sure he has plenty of Bigelow Green Tea. I got the request to send Green Tea for Joe and all of his fellow Yankee Green Tea drinkers. It looks like many of the Yankees are following Joe’s lead and drinking Bigelow Green Tea both hot and iced.

13th January, 2007: Imus in the Morning
Did you hear Thursday the great insights Phil Simms gave on Imus in the Morning regarding the upcoming NFC and AFC playoffs? Phil is a great guest on his weekly appearance on Imus with terrific insights into game strategy and banter with Imus. Let’s hope for some cold weather so fans everywhere can feel like it is truly football season!

5th January, 2007: Chris Simms News, Howie Long likes Bigelow Ad
Just heard from Phil Simms’ agent that Howie Long (also Howie’s agent) really liked the photograph of Phil and Chris Simms in the Bigelow Green Tea ad. It really captured a special moment between the two.
In case you missed it, Chris Simms just signed a new contract with Tampa. All of Chris’s friends at Bigelow are raising their cups of green tea to his continued success.

7th December, 2006: Joe Torre and Phil Simms visit Bigelow Tea

Let me give you a little Bigelow history about Joe Torre, Manager of the Yankees, and Phil Simms, former Quarterback of the NY Giants. Joe Torre agreed to do an ad campaign for us because he believed so much in the value and healing powers of green tea (he has recovered from prostate cancer). It was a natural that he teamed up with Bigelow Tea for print ads, radio spots and more. Our campaign was so successful that we quickly knew that our effort had to be expanded. With that I received a call from Phil and Chris Simms who are both avid Bigelow Green Tea drinkers. We had several meetings and soon realized that they would be great as members of the Bigelow Green Tea Team! The ad has been running in Sports Illustrated and the New York Times and it has been getting a great response from readers across the country.
Because we appreciate all that they have done for Bigelow, we wanted to say thanks by inviting them to Bigelow Tea in Fairfield, Connecticut. The big day was Tuesday December 5th. What a day it was with the visit from Phil Simms, Joe Torre and their wives. It was so rewarding to watch them engage with all of the employees and to have them learn about how we make tea. Joe and Phil are great representatives for our company. Not only did they enjoy themselves with our team but we truly appreciated their coming to visit and their overall support for Bigelow Tea. Thank you Joe and Phil!
