A Message of Hope and Inspiration

It is with great excitement and joy that I recently shared a special supplement in Newsweek Magazine with my
awesome co workers at Bigelow Tea. For the past 11 years Bigelow Tea and all of my coworkers have been nothing short of fantastic and full of support as I have integrated Cancer into my every day life.
Originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998, and two more times since, I can say with total certainty that this is a disease that I am living with NOT dying from. When originally diagnosed “fabulous,” “embrace” and “opportunity” were not words I associated with Cancer. Today they are. I feel so proud to be a part of the awareness program at Norwalk Hospital and to sit beside Dr. Richard Zelkowitz breast cancer specialist whom without I would not have the inspiration to “dance’ with cancer.
For me, Cancer is considered to be a chronic disease. It is like diabetes or high blood pressure for others. I am on a lifetime maintenance drug called Herception which thankfully is working miracles for me as I have been without any recurrence in 7 years. “Cancer free” are words of hope and inspiration. Living and embracing every part of every day Living Life to the very fullest… is who I have become.

Elizabeth’s story is touching because she is determined to live with the cancer and not die from it. How can she be such a survivor? Is it the will to survive? And why? I know what it’s like to have something to live for. I’m a survivor too. –Spirituality of Tea
