Wednesday, 5 March 2008 by Cindi
I have a full court press working on this; we just need a few more days to figure this out! It is hard to get some of the ingredients needed in small quantities but I promise you, my team is all over this!!!!! We have one ingredient that is causing the majority of the problems……

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. I ordered a case and had it shipped to me last fall when I heard this flavor was being discontinued and savored each cup, while wondering what flavor could ever replace this one?! Now, I can look forward to enjoying my favorite tea as well as well as knowing I will have the opportunity to introduce new friends to my favorite tea. And isn’t that half the fun of drinking tea…sharing your favorite flavors with your friends new and old.

I have been ordering cases of tea from you since I was given a gift box several years ago. I drink mostly decaffeinated tea for health reasons, but I do occasionally sneak in a caffeinated tea (like vanilla almond mostly because I cannot get it in decaffeinated). One of my favorite daily teas was the decaf cinnamon tea and I am now quite disappointed to see that you no longer have this selection. Is there any chance that there will be a decaf cinnamon tea in the future???

A few years ago when my local store stopped stocking the decaf cinnamon tea I started buying it by the case directly from Bigelow. As a previous writer commented I was dissapointed that this flavor was discontinued. Any chance of bringing it back?

You asked about bringing back the Cinnamon Stick Decaffeinated Tea.
When Bigelow decides to discontinue a particular tea, it is due to the annual sales not being met for an item, which is necessary to continue the manufacturing of a product.
We understand that these items could be favorites amongst our valued consumers. We will be sure to share your email with our Marketing Department, so that they are aware of your disappointment in discontinuing this tea.
Again, thank you for your interest.

I too am very dissapointed that you no longer carry Cinnamon Stick Tea in decaf and wonder if you will bring it back. There are a lot of people I know personally that are still looking for this tea. Some people can’t have caffene but would like to have Black Tea and cinnamon which both have health benefits. Maybe you could sell it on line only?

If you can’t bring back the Cinnamon Stick Decaf tea to retailers, can you sell it to a private party? Namely me!
Thanks,
Laura

I also have hunted for years for a satisfactory replacement for your Sinfully Cinnamon tea. I have found nothing! I’ve resorted to using cinnamon sticks to make my own tea. I would have stocked up if I had known you were discontinuing it.
No. 8 — May 6th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
Please, please, please consider bringing back a limited quantity of the sinfully cinnamon tea for online purchase only so that those of us who loved it dearly can purchase a few cases. I’d get 3-5 cases myself. I’m dieting and it really takes the edge off for something sweet and relaxes me. I talked to rep earlier today about suggestions for one of your teas that may be similar. I’m willing to try. If you decide to bring it back, please e-mail me so I can put my order in. I ahve my fingers crossed!

Adding my vote for the decaf cinnamon tea to come back. I can only drink decaf, and this was such a wonderful tea. I agree with a previous poster – manufacturing it in smaller quantities and selling it online only might solve your dilemma.

Oh no!! I wish I would have known sooner so I could have stocked up
Decaf Cinnamon Stick is my absolute favorite tea. Now what am I to do??? PLEASE sell it again….is there a place from which I can buy leftover stock?

I also would appreciate knowing if the decaf cinnamon tea is ever produced again. We miss it.

Can i purchase discontinued Vanilla ALmond or Hazelnut from you directly. I would have purchased many cartons had I known this was going to cancelled. Are there any resources available to obtain these teas?
Disappointed there was no warning!

Sue,
You asked if you may purchase the Vanilla Almond or Vanilla Hazelnut from us directly. We no longer have any remaining inventory of either tea, and we apologize for any disappointment this may cause you.

When I saw that fruit and almond tea was going to be discontinued, I bought 3 cases of it. I still have 10 boxes or so that I’m willing to share. No sense in keeping so much that I can’t drink myself.

Is there a tea now made that is similar to my favorite Vanilla Almond? can anyone recommend? thanks
I miss it!

I have not found a satisfactory substitute for your decaf. Cinnamon Stick tea. I have tried every brand I can find and the flavors just aren’t right. I agree with other bloggers that perhaps you could either mount an advertising campaign and bring it back or just make it available online. None of your other herbal cinnamon teas come close to this flavor and there are many people who are now either not allowed caffeine or simply choose not to use caffeine. Maybe you were just “ahead of your time”. More people than ever are using decaf products. Perhaps you might reconsider bringing back the Cinnamon Stick decaffeinated tea.

Kim,
We would recommend French Vanilla, Vanilla Carmel or Fruit and Almond which is only available directly from Bigelow.
Have a great day and thanks for your question!

Carol,
Thank you so much for your comments and please know that they are carefully reviewed. We completely agree that our current selection of decaffeinated teas is very small. We would like to share with you that you can remove a large portion of the caffeine yourself by following these steps:
Bring fresh water to a rolling boil
Pour over tea bag
Steep for 1 minute, remove tea bag and discard the water
Pour boiling water over tea bag again, and steep 1-2 minutes.
This process will remove up to 65% of the caffeine from the tea.
Thank you again for your comments!

My complaint is not about why you choose to discontinue a given tea flavor (business is business), but rather about HOW you go about it. Twice now, had I known that one of my favorite teas was being discontinued, I would have stocked up on-line (which would have also helped Bigelow liquidate their remaining stock). Instead, I had to deduce what had happened from the fact that my normal grocer had chosen not to stock it any more. I challenge you to find a way to announce your discontinuations in such a way that those who really hate to see that flavor disappear can stock up rather than finally come to realize that they had had their last cup of that flavor when they last ran out weeks ago.

Valorie,
If you could be a bit more specific about where on your website you have been placing these announcements, I will definitely bookmark it…for that matter, same goes for the blog.

I COULD JUST CRY! Bring back my vanilla almond!! Please!

Please bring back vanilla almond! I only have 5 teabags left. I am in crisis mode. I have tried others – but none have come close. Thank you

I thought my local stores just didn’t have shelf space, but now I see Vanilla Almond is cancelled. Is it definite or is there hope for a seasonal return? Maybe for crunchy fall days…dark winter nights…rainy spring mornings…sunny summer afternoons…anything?

[...] After receiving a litany of impassioned comments on the subject, Cindi Bigelow blogged the economic reality of the Fruit & Almond decision and apologized for the inconvenience. But, having also seen this situation as an opportunity, Cindi realized that Fruit & Almond tea just might be worth saving. [...]

Please bring back Vanilla Almond Tea. We are willing to pay a (reasonably) higher price if needed. Thank you.

Please bring back the Vanilla Hazelnut tea. It is the best tea I ever had, and though I like the Vanilla Caramel, it just does not have that rich taste from the hazelnuts that I loved. If it could be produced on a specialty basis and ordered on the web that would be fine with me.
